Yadhtrib!
And so the day came. The day the Earth stopped rotating and the moon no longer reflects its shine. The day the rivers flow back to the mountains and fishes walked on land. Yes. This very day, 19 years ago, I…..
GOT SPANKED BY A NURSE!!
This year’s title for Fastest-Birthday-Wisher will go to Daphne Chong Siew Ling/Ling Siew/Ling Ling/Siew Siew. (sorry forgot) *applause* Thanks again to all those who wished me via MSN or SMS.
Anyway, I always thought that birthdays are overrated. It just feels like just another day of the week. If birthdays are the days we actually “become a year older”, we should experience some sort of change physically or emotionally. Isn’t it?
The BIG GUY up there should have made our bodies grow only once a year. Won’t that make birthdays more exciting? Won’t it be great that we wait for the clock to strike 12 to mark the start of our birthdays, in front of the mirror, to see how we’ve grown? And, due to the sudden growth, we’ll need new clothes! That would surely make birthdays stand out.
Either way, we all know that will never happen of course. The BIG GUY knows he has made a mistake, so he gave us Family and Friends to make up for it. They will make birthdays special for us. They’ll make you grow an inch even though you look shorter than ever. They’ll buy you new clothes *hint* *hint* to cover up the extra inch.
To prove that, I received a SMS from my parents during LAN class wishing me happy birthday etc. etc. and a BIG ang pow is waiting for me at home! WAhahahaha… but while I was reading the SMS, I could hear whispers behind my back, conspiring a wicked plan of some sort.
Curtain-sized angpow
My paranoia proved reliable when the lecturer called me to go up the stage to emcee.
*What the hell?! Even the lecturer is involved!*
So, being the obedient kid that I am, I dragged my feet up the stage and stood there like…

So they got everyone to sing me the birthday song (LAN classes is a combination of 3 different classes)…..standing up! Wahseh…like national anthem. My head blew up so big I nearly fell over.
My classmates gave me a cake from Starbucks and...a hand-made birthday card that has my green-hat-stick-man pictures all over it and quotes from this blog as well. Wahhh... thank you thank you.
After that, I had dinner with my housemates, Chung and Lai. Kena belanja eat bakuteh. Wah..so full! Thank you thank you.
At the end of the day, I may not have grown an inch taller (shit but maybe wider...bakuteh....cake...) or have new clothes to wear, instead I have my Friends and Family who have made my birthday feel like a birthday. :)
p/s: Not forgeting my sister who called all the way from UK to wish me.In fact, she called me when I was blogging. Thanx yah.
