Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

It has occurred to me that there are probably two types of a friend you can become. Forgive me if this is senseless or pointless, but it has become a habit of mine to think of such things when I can't sleep. I rolled around my bed (not that there was much space to roll either) for hours.
Anyways,
Friend Type One:
You are like a parent to all your friends, always watching out for them. They seek your help in when they are having trouble. This probably indicates that they trust your decisions and most importantly they trust you. However, you are boring. You are often being left out from their activities. No they do not hate you or anything, they just feel that you'd be a burden, dragging your anti-social ass around.
Friend Type Two:
You are the most happening person. You find yourself always hanging out with your friends being happy. You're almost never alone, all it takes is just a phone call to have someone have a drink with you. However, you realize that you do not know your friends. All you know is just that happy, pretty face when they meet you. Just like knowing how a book cover looks like but totally clueless what the plot is about. When you are feeling down, you've got no one to turn to because you'd find there's no one you could tell your problems to.
Yeah. So which of the two describes you most? Hrm?
Maybe it's not right to categorize it with just 2 types eh? But assuming we live in a world of "black and white"s where gray is not a colour, fences are spiked so you can't sit on them, which of the two would you rather be?
