because I have to update. Saturday, September 29, 2007 |

Yeah. I'm in Cardiff. Still getting used to how cold it can be even though it's so sunny. I'm too lazy to upload pics here since I've already done so on facebook. Instead I'll upload some videos!

Super!

a chapter in life where the bookmark remains Saturday, September 15, 2007 |

I'm leaving tomorrow and I won't get to see home for a year. Actually, it feels like I've already left, having gone to the airport so many times to watch friends walk through the imigration gates, I feel that I've already said enough goodbyes. And to some it seems like they've already said their goodbyes long ago.

Which is harder, being the one that leaves or being the person who has to watch people leave?

*I'll wear a different shirt tomorrow*

Maybe just one last goodbye is okay.
Goodbye. The next time we would meet again, things will definitely be different so lets just take a moment and cherish those memories.

*I don't have much pics because I've only got my cam during right before cny and I'm no camhoe

It's my turn.

Jack's Mannequin - Bruised

I've got my things, I'm good to go
You met me at the terminal
Just one moe plane ride and its done

We stood like statues at the gate
Vacation's come and gone too late
There's so much sun where I'm from I had to give it away,
had to give you away

Hours pass, and she still counts the minutes
That I am not there, I swear I didn't mean
For it to feel like this
Lie every inch of me is bruised, bruised
And don't fly fast.
Oh, pilot can you help me?Can you make this last?
This plane is all I got, So keep it steady, now
Cause every inch you see is bruised

I lace my Chucks,
I wal the aisle I take my pills, the babies cry
All I hear is what's playing through The in-flight radio
Now every word of every song I ever heard that made me wanna stay
Is what's playing throught The in-flight radio,
and I and I am, finally waking up...

Music Mends Broken Hearts Monday, September 10, 2007 |

Has anyone of you heard the Hey There Delilah song by Plain White T's? Well who hasn't. Its been playing on the Hitz.fm several times each day, for a few weeks already.

I could still remember, about two years ago my friends and I were playing the song on our guitar and singing along in Damai. Who would have guessed that very song is getting so much airtime and is even going up the charts today.

It saddens me that it took so long for such a nice song to make it past all those artists who do not play their own music and sign million dollar contracts with label companies that tells them what to sing and what not to.

Then again, who am I to say who deserves to be on the radio better. To each his own, yeah? But to those who do not mind listening to songs from bands that you've not heard of (yet?), I have a treat for you.

Champton and Alvin have compiled a mixed tape you can download from this link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/s4xk6c

First Person to Land On the Moon Saturday, September 08, 2007 |

"The Apollo 11 mission was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. It was the fifth human spaceflight of the Apollo programs, and the third human voyage to the moon. Launched on July 16. 1969, it carried Commander Neil Alden Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin Eugene 'Buzz' Aldrin, Jr. On July 20, Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to land on the Moon, while Collins orbited above." -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_11-

I have recently discovered that wikipedia is not that reliable because this part about who actually landed on the moon first is, in fact, false.

The truth is, the first person to set foot on the piece of rock that has been orbiting our planet for God knows when (literally), was not a Neil Armstrong (Jeez, just because he had a real powerful arm...) but a beautiful young girl from Beijing, China. Her name was Wong Yue Chang'e and she left the sole marks of her little slippers on the surface of the moon some time around 2036 hours, 2170 BC .

Now, if you were to Wiki this little piece of information, you would come across not one or two versions of how it actually happened, but a friggin' FIVE versions. Forget Wiki, I shall tell you what REALLY happened and because you deserve to know the truth.

Summer of year 2170 BC, it was the holidays but Yue Chang'e, being a very studious person, was in her high school library memorising love poems from the "Love Poems for Dummies (Mandarin Version)" for a test she would have to sit for at the start of the new term.

Chang'e was a very beautiful girl...very bootifu. In fact, she was the first freshie to be crowned Prom Queen in her high school. Anyways, Chang'e was single despite her glamorous looks and the only close guy friend she ever had was this boy, Lim HouYi.

Lim HouYi did not have many friends in school. He was a chubby boy who could not play badminton (all the hot guys could play badminton), but for some reason, Chang'e always saved him a seat next to her in the library.

Anyway, this is getting abit draggy so I'm going to skip the part where Chang'e and HouYi fell in love with each other because Chang'e thought that HouYi had the most amazing eyes (because they were bigger than those of the other guys) and HouYi simply just felt that Chang'e was 'so bootifu...his heart is skips a beats'.

Eventually, Lim De Papa, HouYi's dad found out that HouYi and Chang'e were dating and was furious. He felt that Chang'e would distract HouYi whom he believed would become a very famous inventor of a device that would aid navigation in the dark.

De Papa came up with a plan to get rid of Chang'e without killing her because that would be wrong. He met up with a notorious witch who lived in the Forbidden Forrest. No one knew her true name but she was often called AhPoh Loh, which means Old Lady Loh.

AhPoh Loh gave De Papa a potion that once drunk, the drinker will fly all the way to the moon and to the moon only, in exchange for 3 goats and a hen. De Papa, without wasting anymore time, organised a cocktail party at his house and invited Chang'e only.

Yeah, it's getting predictable. De Papa mixed the potion into Chang'e's Margarita and she flew all the way to the moon and she landed and made history that was forgotten.
(Oh, before Chang'e took off, De Papa handed her a huge birthday cake with a nice bean paste globe at the centre of the cake, and he said to her, "Sorry man, but I can't have you here distracting my son and all. Here's a birthday cake for all the birthday celebrations you are going to miss.")

When HouYi found out what happened he went bonkers and he just hid in his room for weeks to find a way to get Chang'e back. He only came out of his room on Thursday nights to watch 'One Tree Hill'. Then one day, he finally got it! The device that would assist him in rescuing Chang'e!

A paper lantern that could light up your surroundings with a range of about a metre in radius and only with a single lit birthday candle placed at the base of the lantern! Ingenious!

Unfortunately for him though, it rained every night after that.

Who would have thought that Apollo missions were named after an old witch?
And nows you knows !

spaghetti Wednesday, September 05, 2007 |

I just cooked spaghetti. It's only my second time and its not so nice cos I think I put too much meat and I prefer mozzarella cheese to Parmesan. i love the how the cheese stretches!

Gluttony Sunday, September 02, 2007 |

Today I had dinner at the Lok Thian Thai Restaurant. I didn't want to go because dinners at restaurants would take about two hours and that would mean that I will miss at least the first half of the Arsenal vs Portsmouth match.

However, I was hopeful that, if I ate as fast as I could when the rest are busy talking, the dishes would be served much faster and I would only miss 15 minutes of the match.

So I ate and ate as fast as I could! In fact I was so busy with eating that I snapped at the waitress whom I thought was going to fill up my half filled glass of ice water with chinese tea. The waitress continued to fill up my glass and I was so embarrassed when it was actually just plain water in the pot.

Yeah. It wasn't a good plan at all. I went home half an hour late and I could only stare at the cakes with wonderful toppings at the end of the dinner. Pure torture!
